THE CONFESSIONS OF A 30-SOMETHING ENTREPRENEUR

THE CONFESSIONS OF A 30-SOMETHING ENTREPRENEUR

Well, folks... I've finally done it...I've finally gotten around to starting a blog. I've contemplated blogging for ages, but my fear of being too self-involved always held me back. "Hey look what I had for dinner everybody!" is not on my menu. Then I got to thinking about life. I though about how confusing it can be for the now 30-something year old entrepreneur, who is trying to run a progressive company, while in a foreign country under Sharia Law!!?! Seems rather paradoxical, but worthy enough of sharing, right!
I'd like to share on behalf of Banda Bags, but keep it real. Producing these beautiful, handmade vegan bags is NOT EASY... Let me tell ya folks, running your own business is not all the fairy floss glamor you see on Instagram with 10-pound models strutting your stuff with flowers in their hair.

Running a Business--Whew

Come to think about it, there really is nothing glamorous about it all. In no particular order, running your own business:
  • sucks up your life and your wallet
  • takes over your brain 24/7
  • keeps you forever single
  • once a month has you contemplating your whole existence...even more so when you don't always have clean running water!

With a Little Help from Gosling

Suffice to say I've had my share of ups-n-downs and come Friday there will be some more. Good thing I follow a bunch of self-help Instagrams where Ryan Gosling gives me morale-boosting advice. God bless that sexy creature.

Loving this Journey

Now that I have managed to make my life and everything I'm doing seem utterly discouraging, admittedly I love the journey that I am on. I am building a progressive company that I love. I am constantly creating while learning about another culture in hopes of sharing it the world... I couldn’t really see my life any other way. I mean that’s the point of life, right? L-I-V-I-N-G.

L-I-V-I-N-G

Well I am L-I-V-I-N-G in Indonesia for a lot of the year and I am excited to also have my gals here chip in. There is so much to learn from other cultures and there are many interesting topics to pique your interest (including Indonesian beauty tips!). Trust me, they are all very giddy to have Westerners listen to their voice!
If I've kept your attention about my life up until this point, I hope you will continue reading because this is just the beginning...
